As America prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 2026, individuals and organizations are coming together to make plans for celebrating in Noble County.
The Noble County Convention and Visitors Bureau, also known as Visit Noble County, is taking the lead to help spur and promote events, exhibits, and other activities that will recognize and highlight the milestone locally.
Joining the State of Indiana and the nation, people in Noble County are already working to identify a series of activities to honor the nation's past and recognize contributions made locally. A special website landing page has been launched on the Visit Noble County website where locals interested in joining the planning process can find more information and contribute their own.
A series of additional planning meetings have been set to take place once each quarter during 2025. Community members and organizations who share a passion for history, government, service, civic engagement, and community enrichment are invited to join the growing group of organizers. Meetings will be held at Visit Noble County's meeting room at 110 S Orange Street in Albion on February 19, May 21, August 20, and November 12, 2025, beginning at 9:00 a.m. and concluding by no later than 11:00 a.m. Additional meetings will also be planned for 2026, to take place ahead of the culmination of the celebration on July 4, 2026.
Draft graphic designs that will be used to brand America 250 in Noble County are shown above. Feedback about the designs is welcomed and can be sent to grace@visitnoblecounty.com. Designs will be finalized at the February 19, 2026 meeting, then shared with participating event and activity sponsors for cohesive branding countywide.
