National Disc Golf Day is August 3rd, 2024! National Disc Golf Day is celebrated on the first Saturday of August each year. Disc Golf is a great stress reliever. It provides a healthy way to loosen up the neck, arms, and shoulder kinks-get outside to one of Noble County's three disc golf courses! Noble County abounds with outdoor recreation opportunities fueled by a system of outstanding parks, including disc golf! Albion, Ligonier, and Kendallville each have a fantastic and unique Disc Golf Course in their City park systems! Disc golf is gaining in popularity in the area. Kendallville, Albion, and Ligonier have disc golf courses in their parks. The object of the game is to stand on a tee pad, usually concrete, and throw a plastic disc some distance into a metal basket.
Let’s take a quick disc golf tour of Noble, starting in Albion, the county seat at Hidden Diamonds Park. Aptly named, this hidden gem is a real treasure in Albion, featuring nearly 50 acres of scenic rolling hills, various recreational opportunities, and a stellar 18-hole disc golf course. Drive from US 9 to US6 and explore a fantastic disc golf location! From Albion, let's drive through Wawaka as we continue west to Ligonier, Indiana! As we go through the Ligonier, look out the window and down the alleyways to take in this City of Murals’ more than 30 artworks!
Located just off W. Union St., Kenney Park features an 18-hole disc golf course that has quickly become a destination for the region’s disc golf enthusiasts. This rated course attracts Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Illinois visitors to challenge their skills while having fun with their friends.
We are heading east to Bixler Lake in Kendallville, home to two 9-hole disc golf courses and one 18-hole course! Kendallville residents treasure Bixler Lake and all the surrounding amenities. The 117-acre lake provides opportunities for recreation and education. Located on the city’s east side, the park features over 530 acres (including the lake) to explore via a pedestrian walkway, nature trail, or on the water. Bixler Lake Park offers a lighted softball field, campground, tennis courts, and pickleball and basketball courts.
